Neem Tree: Its Medicinal Uses To Healthy Life





 
















Neem tree was considered as a medicinal one and was given the prime position because of its ability to treat a wide spectrum of diseases.
All parts of the neem tree have medicinal value. The root, bark, twigs, leaf, flower, seed and fruit are all used in treating various ailments.
More than 135 compounds have been isolated from different parts of neem and several reviews have also been published on the chemistry and structural diversity of these compounds.


Perhaps, its most common use in India is in dental applications. And,
There it is sometimes called “the toothbrush tree,” because it is common for people to pull a twig off of the neem tree, chew the end to form “bristles” and use the twig as a highly effective toothbrush. In the west, neem is added to toothpaste.
In a German study of 70 patients with gumsinflammation of varying stages, after just 5 to 10 treatments with a neem-based toothpaste and mouthwash there was significant improvement.


Chewing fresh neem leaves in healing bleeding gum, scientists believe that antibacterial compounds and neem’s ability to improve the immune response in the gums and tissues of the mouth account for these results.
Neem’s pain-relieving compounds will reduce the discomfort of a toothache. The anti-inflammatory compounds will reduce the pressure on nerves that can cause the toothache.


Brushing with neem toothpaste after every meal and using a mouthwash with neem extract is recommended treatment for preventing and correcting gingivitis.
